Retro Future Sci-Fi Thriller The Invincible Looks Out Of This World On PS5

Well, that's a pleasant surprise. Polish author StanisÅ‚aw Lem's 1964 novel The Invincible is coming to PlayStation 5 - and here's your first look at the adaptation, developed by Starward Industries. "When you wake up as a space scientist on a hostile planet, you embark on a mysterious mission to find the missing crew of your spaceship," the official description reads. “Survival is about making the right choices, taken while uncovering the secrets of the planet, bigger than anyone thought. "

The blurb continues: “As you land on a planet Regis III, you must find the missing crew members using advanced space equipment, while relying on your brain and instinct to survive on the planet that quickly turns out to be unwelcoming. Soon you will discover that Regis III holds terrifying secrets that are uncovered as you plead the fate of your crew. And as you delve deeper into the mystery, you realize that you might not be alone and some places like this planet are best left untouched. But it is too late to go back.

The studio, Starward Industries, is made up of developers from a variety of popular releases, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Dying Light. It's promising "immersive gameplay with a non-linear story shaped by your relationships, choices, and persuasion skills." The game is slated for release next year and has hit the top of our wishlist based on this little trailer. Awesome stuff!

Federal Reserve lent $300 billion in emergency funds to banks in the past week

WASHINGTON (AP) — Cash-short banks have borrowed about $300 billion from the Federal Reserve in the past week, the central bank announced Thursday. Nearly half the money — $143 billion — went to holding companies for two major banks that failed over the past week, Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, triggering widespread alarm in financial markets. The Fed did not identify the banks that received the other half of the funding or say how many of them did so. The holding companies for the two failed banks were set up by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which has taken over both banks. The money they borrowed was used to pay their uninsured depositors, with bonds owned by both banks posted as collateral. The FDIC has guaranteed the repayment of the loans, the Fed said. The figures provide a first glimpse of the scale of the Fed’s assistance to the financial sector after the two banks collapsed this past weekend. ...
