Machine Gun Kelly shaves head, reveals tattoo on head to promote new music

The blond Don has become the bald Don.

Sorry, Machine Gun Kelly fans. The iconic blonde locks of the interpreter of "Bloody Valentine" have officially disappeared.

Machine Gun Kelly posted photos of him with a shaved head on social media on Tuesday (August 10), which means he will now have to remove “The Blonde Don” from his Instagram bio. Sad!

MGK's newly shaved head also revealed a rather prominent head tattoo, which ran down the center of his skull. The tattoo appears to be a diamond-shaped design, or some sort of arrow in black ink.

Before deciding to scalp himself, MGK had recently been spotted with much longer hair than usual, which makes many think he was wearing extensions - or even a wig - for a movie role… So why would it all cut, you ask? Well, according to his Twitter post, MGK has shaved his head to promote his new music.

MGK is releasing a single titled "Papercuts" alongside the music video, directed by Cole Bennett, tonight (August 11). “I shaved my head for those 'paper cuts' from @_ColeBennett_ tomorrow at 9pm,” he captioned the image. The song is likely to be from his upcoming sixth studio album Born With Horns , which was produced by Travis Barker of Blink-182.

While shaving your head and getting a tattoo seems like the perfect stunt to grab attention, MGK fans aren't convinced. Some seem skeptical of the reality of the hairstyle change, accusing him of using a bald cap.

“Don't lie, we know it's a bald cap,” one user tweeted. Another added, “Uhhh, I'm going to call baldness right away honey. While a third concluded, "The shape of the head looks so wacky it must be a bald cap, you can see it rising higher up. "

It wouldn't be the first wild stunt MGK performed this week, however. On Monday, the actor revealed he and Travis had matching “Born With Horns” tattoos on their arms to announce the upcoming album of the same name.

Federal Reserve lent $300 billion in emergency funds to banks in the past week

WASHINGTON (AP) — Cash-short banks have borrowed about $300 billion from the Federal Reserve in the past week, the central bank announced Thursday. Nearly half the money — $143 billion — went to holding companies for two major banks that failed over the past week, Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, triggering widespread alarm in financial markets. The Fed did not identify the banks that received the other half of the funding or say how many of them did so. The holding companies for the two failed banks were set up by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which has taken over both banks. The money they borrowed was used to pay their uninsured depositors, with bonds owned by both banks posted as collateral. The FDIC has guaranteed the repayment of the loans, the Fed said. The figures provide a first glimpse of the scale of the Fed’s assistance to the financial sector after the two banks collapsed this past weekend. ...
