Special weather phenomenon in Loenhout: funnel 'disappears' just in time before the storm turns



“A funnel is a phenomenon that can grow into a whirlwind”, says Weather Station Zoersel & Omstreken. “We received several reports on Tuesday evening. It is currently very unstable, which makes it easy for strong showers to form and cause these phenomena. Fortunately, we received the message that in the end it did not become a real whirlwind, because it could cause some damage. Funnels are common in themselves, but usually they disappear again at a fairly high altitude. It really seemed to have sunk deep, but it eventually disappeared.”
