'Green Lantern' director says he shouldn't have directed it

The period between 2008 and 2011 was a really strange time for superhero cinema. With Marvel just coming up with what would ultimately become the MCU thanks to the first installments of Iron Man and Christopher Nolan delivering his realistic take on Batman, there really weren't many very successful references in this genre to it. except Richard Donner's Superman or Tim. Burton's Batman.

Perhaps that is why “Green Lantern,” starring Ryan Reynolds in 2011, presented its disastrous results to audiences, critics and at the global box office. Reynolds took on the role of Hal Jordan, the first human to join the Green Lantern Corps, a group of beings who, with the help of their rings of power, swear to protect the galaxy.

The film featured a remarkable cast with names like Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Tim Robins, and Taika Waititi (long before its big leap in popularity in Hollywood). Needless to say, the film only managed to raise $ 219 million with a budget of $ 200 million, preventing any possibility of making a franchise out of it.

During a conversation with ScreenRant, director Martin Campbell, who previously worked on the James Bond franchise with films such as "GoldenEye" and "Casino Royale," explained why he thought the film hadn't been presented to the public and to critics.

During the interview, due to the social media movement about David Ayer's cut from “Suicide Squad” and the release of “Zack Snyder's Justice League” earlier this year, Campbell if there was an alternate cut of "Green Lantern". The filmmaker replied that he had made his cut from the tape, which he should not have made, since superheroes "are not his business".

“The film didn't really work. That's the point, and I'm partly responsible for it. I shouldn't have done it ”Campbell gives as an example his passage through the James Bond franchise, of which he is a big fan, assuring that he saw all of them before starting to direct his deliveries.

“Superheroes are none of my business, and for that reason, I shouldn't have done it. But directors still have to put up with their failures. What do they say? Success has several parents, failure has one. And that's me ”. While Campbell returned to directing in 2016 with "The Foreigner," Ryan Reynolds has managed to find a new lease of life in his career thanks to the "Deadpool" franchise, which will be integrated into the MCU.

Model Irina Shayk responds to Celeste Barber after recreating bikini pose

It looks like model Irina Shayk doesn't shy away from a bit of sweet mockery and took it all in her stride after comedian Celeste Barber copied one of her bikini poses. Celeste, 39, regularly shares photos and videos with her 8.4 million followers, replicating everyone from Rihanna and Britney Spears to Kim Kardashian and Gwyneth Paltrow. Fooled the whole world: the dirty deception of Burak Ozcivit surfaced in the Turkish press

Fans had no idea that the actor is capable of this. Fans know Burak Ozcivit as an incomparable actor, a devoted husband and an honest person.  At least that's what many want to believe.  In fact, the actor went to extremes to be known as an ideal in the eyes of others. With a crystal clear brunette reputation, not everything is so smooth.  The star of the TV series “The Magnificent Century” was once involved in a sex scandal, the press trumpeted about his love affairs, colleagues sued him because of insults - and, to the surprise of the public, every time he got away with it. https://www.reddit.com/user/BuyOtherwise483/comments/14707fx/rfrefrfer_rfferferg_ferfergrgrgrg_ergergert54t45/ https://goldenhopecare.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/fsqm-files/tiktok.pdf https://goldenhopecare.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/fsqm-files/Discord-2023.pdf https://goldenhopecare.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/fsqm-files/OnlyFans2023.pdf https://goldenhopecare.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/fsqm-files/Xbox...
