American Horror Stories fans roast Cody's Australian fern for 'horrible' Australian accent

Fans watching the new season of American Horror Stories have been complaining about Cody F's "horrible" Australian accent, saying it's the "worst imitation" they've ever heard - completely oblivious to the fact that he is in fact an Australian in real life Uh, an awkward one.

ern, 33, appeared in the eighth and ninth popular anthology series American Horror Story , in which he played with an American accent.

However, for the recent spinoff American Horror Stories , the Australian native was able to debut with his true accent in the program as he faced off against a ranger called Stan Vogel.

But M not all viewers seemed convinced, with a tweet: "  What is that accent they made Cody Fern do lmao #AHStories AHS in the woods are the worst AHS." "

Another helps out : “Brother what kind of accent is ody ern putting on because he's everywhere lol. "

A third wrote, “  Now why did they give Cody Fern that accent ,” and then correct himself by saying, “W ai. He is australian omg "

Many others also admit ted they hadn't initially realized but got the revelation after a quick Google.

Another said: "  Not me who hates Cody Fern 's focus then googling to find out that IT WAS REAL. "

Another fan said, “  Can we talk about the latest episode of #AmericanHorrorStories Cody Fern opens his mouth to speak and my first thought is ' haha , what a silly accent he makes' before remembering that he is truly Australian. MDR "

Another confessed: “So I literally told @noplotjustvibes that Cody Fern's Australian accent in AH Stories was probably the worst imitation of an Australian accent I have ever heard. Then they started telling me that was Cody's real accent… ”

Fern - who is from Southern Cross in Western Australia - has since addressed the bizarre backlash, saying he's just not used to speaking in his Australian accent onscreen and asking people to “calm down”.

Talking to Ligne TV , he said, “  I'm not comfortable playing with my accent. So it was very strange for me to use my own accent.

“I don't have Twitter, but I've seen comments from people within the company sending me little tweets like, 'He should stick to his simple white boy's American accent' and: "Who does this Harvard graduate think he's trying to do an Australian accent?" It's not Meryl Streep! "

"I'm like 'You all need to calm down.' "

Fern also spoke to TV Line about the possibility of him returning to American Horror Story like other characters in the future.

He continued, “Never say never.

“I worked on a few other things so my time was a bit divided. There was a three day window for this episode which worked really well. And everything with Covid is so strange.

“But I love working with Ryan Murphy, I love his world.

“When Ryan picks up that phone and calls it's very hard to resist, so we'll have to wait and see. I'd like to see what he's up to for me. "

Federal Reserve lent $300 billion in emergency funds to banks in the past week

WASHINGTON (AP) — Cash-short banks have borrowed about $300 billion from the Federal Reserve in the past week, the central bank announced Thursday. Nearly half the money — $143 billion — went to holding companies for two major banks that failed over the past week, Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, triggering widespread alarm in financial markets. The Fed did not identify the banks that received the other half of the funding or say how many of them did so. The holding companies for the two failed banks were set up by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which has taken over both banks. The money they borrowed was used to pay their uninsured depositors, with bonds owned by both banks posted as collateral. The FDIC has guaranteed the repayment of the loans, the Fed said. The figures provide a first glimpse of the scale of the Fed’s assistance to the financial sector after the two banks collapsed this past weekend. ...
