The rock world is in mourning . The legendary singer of Los Violadores, Pil Trafa, has died at the age of 62 at his residence in Lima, Peru, following a cardiopulmonary arrest.

Through a statement on the Facebook page of one of the groups he led, Pilsen, the news broke that no doubt left thousands of fans around the world completely in awe.

“It is with deep sadness that we regret to share with you the passing of our beloved leader, Enrique Chalar. Pil left us physically this afternoon abruptly at his home in Lima, Peru, following cardiopulmonary arrest, at the age of 62, ”part of the post said.

"He leaves us a warrior, a pioneer of punk and the Latin American underground, enlightened lyricist, spokesperson for a whole generation, fighter and tireless captain of a thousand battles", he continues.

“There are not enough words to express our regret. We are especially accompanying his wife and son at this time and embracing all of his disciples who have always meant so much to Pil. Pil Chalar 1959 - 2021 to Eternity ”, ends.

Enrique Chalar, better known as Phil Trafa, was born on February 1, 1959 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was the frontman of the legendary punk rock band Los Violadores, which made him famous in the 1980s with his songs “Uno, Dos, Ultraviolento”, “Sentimiento Fatal”, among others.

The success of this group has been very great in South America and in other Latin American countries and in the world, being one of the local punk references. Likewise, in 1992 he formed Pilsen, another group that he formed for a few years until 1995 but in 2017 he returned with all the musical artillery to which the musician puts his projects.

Since the late 1990s, Pil began to settle in Lima, Peru, where he lived with his wife and son.

Rest in peace, Pil. Your legacy will be indelible.

Federal Reserve lent $300 billion in emergency funds to banks in the past week

WASHINGTON (AP) — Cash-short banks have borrowed about $300 billion from the Federal Reserve in the past week, the central bank announced Thursday. Nearly half the money — $143 billion — went to holding companies for two major banks that failed over the past week, Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, triggering widespread alarm in financial markets. The Fed did not identify the banks that received the other half of the funding or say how many of them did so. The holding companies for the two failed banks were set up by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which has taken over both banks. The money they borrowed was used to pay their uninsured depositors, with bonds owned by both banks posted as collateral. The FDIC has guaranteed the repayment of the loans, the Fed said. The figures provide a first glimpse of the scale of the Fed’s assistance to the financial sector after the two banks collapsed this past weekend. ...
